Thanks to all!!!
I had the privilege of working by phone with an excellent support guy from Dallas, who successfully "navigated" me through to a solution.
I am not sure of the "protocol" here on the forum, so I may not be supposed to name names, so until I learn what I'm supposed to say and what I'm not supposed to say, I'll leave it at that.
But I believe the problem was resolved with the 440 to 450 idea.
I say "I believe" because my "learning curve" was in high gear, and we did a number of things testing and such before the problem was fully resolved, so I am not fully clear as to whether it was one change or a number of changes that actually did it.
Anyway, I really appreciate the forum and the helpfulness of all "ya'll".
Still Learning, John

It was actually his phone system programming that needed to be corrected and had nothing to do with any of the VM settings.

I have this same exact problem: incidentally on the same exact system! Palmaruski was busy so he kicked it to me. The phone system lost it's memory again and I gotta do the same thing John did. :db:
Y'all still there?
Also, how do I forward the extensions to voicemail? She said ( the customer it should say on the screen something about vm fwd)

Please start a new post. It works better than adding onto older ones.
