I am a getting a little nervous here. I just called to place an order for the 3515-71 telephones and my distributor tells me he has none in stock and isn't sure when they will be getting any. He says that I could try a few other distributors, which I will, but apparently this is a problem across the board. Anybody else run into this problem?
Also, is this the end of the STSe line? Is this the way Vertical is going to force the other product lines on us? I don't know, but I'm not happy.

It is true. According to Target, there are none of these phones anywhere in the country. They are expected in the middle of September and won't be on distributor's shelves until at least the third week of September. They simply blew their forecasting for factory orders; it isn't the end of the line at all.

One option that might help is that the white phones aren't in such short supply.

The problem that concerns me is that I keep an 8 pk. on my shelf at all times in-case of emergencies or out of box failure ( which is rare ). But I have several proposals that could close fairly soon and would expect me to install it within 48 hrs of signed agreement. I can't change the color they requested and certainly don't wan't to say, all of a sudden they are on back order. I'm pretty perplexed( did I spell that right? ) about this. I think they may have a few of the backlit phones but I don't want to eat the cost of those either. It's just frustrating.

They (Vertical) contacted me a few months ago seeking forecast information and I blew them off. Now I'll know better next time. I've gone through all of my inventory as well, so I've had to resort to buying refurbs as a temporary measure. Even those are increasingly hard to find.

Other distributors have them beside Target. This is far from the truth that there are no sets available. You can get them today if you need them. If you have questions call Vertical.

If you really want the correct story on why Target ran out I would call Vertical and ask. The STS line is not going anywhere from what I have been told. Don't cause a panic out there with these made up stories.

I just picked up 24 from Graybar about two weeks ago. Whenever I order they always say we have x amount in this location, and it was a quantity that did not strike me as odd or low quantity. You may want to try there.

I'm a bit confused. The distributors don't have them so were suppose to call Vertical? Won't they just tell us to call our distributors? Don't the distributors deal direct with Vertical for their stock? If you know which distributors of the product has them in stock why not just say who that may be? Maybe this is why we're all a bit put out by the new Vertical. A dealer placing an order and being told they are out of stock, verified by another dealer is not a made up story. So are you a plant?

EDIT: If you are "Sales" (your profile) for Vertical just say so and give us the benifit of your inside knowledge.

Bandit90, I wasn't trying to cause any sort of panic. I probably should have written this in the private installers category, but to say we have "made up stories" is just not accurate. I just got off the phone with Vertical and they say that their shipment is due tomorrow, however it will be about a week before distributors will get them, and another 2 days before it would arrive to the end vendor. They also say the ksu's are on back order. He said I could try Graybar, but he didn't sound confident that they would have any phones or ksu's. But I shall try.

Graybar does show some in stock, as of this morning.

Bandit90, I really don't know where to start with you. Who are you insulting here? Some of your dealers, or one of your largest distributors? Would Bill Tauscher or Dick Anderson approve?

Many dealers have been put off by Vertical for quite some time. Personally, I have tried to keep some of the dirty laundry out of the open forum on this web site, but I will not do that any longer.

BTW, my experience tells me to put a lot more stock in what Target has to say than Vertical.

Don you have no reason to apologize. You're a long time respected tech on this forum and as you're not trying to sell anything to anyone here. Therefore I'd say your experiences with dealers are relevant to the other members.
