This is sort of a shot in the dark, but is it possible for a station to call ALL other stations on the system at once. The idea is to replace the school's junky old intercom. I think its possible but is there some sort of timeout on it as well?

All Page (usually code 700) There is a timeout that can be lengthened.

Ahh yes. Found it in the programming manual. Just didn't know the correct terminology. Thanks a bunch!

That would assume that all the classroom phones are digital extensions because they will not page throught he SLT sets. Depending on what kind of intercom system it is you can usually integrate them with the vodavi via SLT or CO ports.

Danny also if they get a external paging device, that would be 761. 701 would be internal for just the phones and 700 for everything at once.

oobie - the intercom is about as old as I am lol. Is there a piece of hardware to go from the phone system to an amp with speakers attached to it? That way the office could call a "station" and it would in reality be the speakers.

I think you are referring to a paging system. Intercom is simply station-to-station dialing via the phones.
Connections to external paging systems are usually accomplished via the external page port on the KSU or via a dedicated CO line port. Do you know what they dial from the phones go reach this paging system? This would greatly help us answer your questions.
To answer your last question, yes there are all kinds of paging interface units available, but we'll need to know just a bit more in order to point you in the right direction.

As Ed if you could find out what type on Intercom system is in place like a DUKANE, TELECOR, ROLAND, etc. It would make it easier to find out if what your trying to is applicable.

Theres a Dukane Intercom system in there right now. It still functions fine but they'd rather use the phone system over the existing speakers. It takes up a fair amount of space in the office of a growing school. The office is using currently using 721 to dial all internal. But there's no phones in the hallways or outside so tying the phone sys. into the speakers is the most logical thing to do.
