I moved an extension; the phone will not come up. I have verified the port and cabling (continuity and reversals). With my DVM, I am getting -36 VDC on the W-O/O-W with respect to the W-Bl. I'm at a loss.
Sincerely yours, -tim

Assuming you've tested the cable try reversing your data leads. If I remember correctly they are polarity sensitive.

If I remember, the secondary pair are the data pair. Correct?

I don't remember anymore, but you don't need to really need to take time on those specifics because you have other working ports. So just compare your propblem port against another working one at the KSU. The phone will either work at the KSU or it doesn't. If it works at the KSU but not the jack, then check your wiring.
Bill, I think if the 2nd pair is reversed, it takes the # of a "sister" station. 10&11 are "sisters", 12&13 are 'sisters" etc.

Ya, I know they're paired. If he just moved it and it doesn't work has to be something in the wiring I'd think.

It has to be a polarity issue on either the station that was moved or on the paired one. Your polarity may be right, but the paired one might not be. If both were reversed, then they both would have still worked before.
