I have a customer with a DHS-E, an analog adapter, and a Minivoice. Station users calling the VM can't enter their password. The VM says too few digits dialed. When I monitored the analog ports going into the VM the first digit was ok but the second digit was delayed by several seconds, thus the too few digits dialed.Internal calls from digital to digital phones are ok, as are outside calls. I switched ports going into VM (changing programming ) and same problem. KSU programming is ok. Callers from outside can retrieve messages as the analog talk path lets the tones through. I suspect the analog adapter but can't rule out KSU.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks.

You may need to adjust your pauses in your retrieve table. But as a rule of thumb, here is my general pattern of diagnosing a VM problem.
On other Vodavi systems, I dial one of the voice mail station ports directly. That way I can observe if the problem is in a leave & retrieve table. The DHS analog VM port is flagged at the station level so you can't use this method unless you first turn off the VM flag. This will aid you in isolating the problem.

If I remember correctly the DHS phones had a kinda quirky dial & sometimes they would not produce a good tone. I wonder if you exchanged someones phone that is having trouble & use a known good phone if that might clear the problem. Just a thought.

What is a leave and retrieve table? The problem is the same if I go through dialing the station numbers directly or through feature 64.I didn't try it with the vm flag off in station programming. Also, all stations in the system can't dial the password. When I listened to the tones (monitored with butt set)from the analog adapter on both ports the first digit of the password goes through, the second and subsequent tones were delayed by several seconds. The confirmation tone from the keyset was normal though.
Hope to have another analog adapter tomorrow to switch with.

Shorten the call handling vm interdigit time, the time between digits. The range is 60-150msecs and the default is set at 120msecs for dialing into voice mail groups.

The time between the first and second digits that I hear on the analog side is 4 or 5 seconds, even though they were dialed immediately on the key set.

Your vm l/r table is not programmed correctly or your slt ports are not programmed correctly as vm ports which will cut off the analog digits when you dial or both.

If you are not familiar with leave & retrieve tables, you will be needing a greater depth of support than this forum is supposed to provide. You will benefit greatly if you locate a trained technician in your area.
