All 30D sets on the expansion cabinet 1 inoperable - "OK Sync" on display. Reset cabinet 0 and 1 and reseated LMU cards; still no luck. Customer just told me that ALL the phones system wide intermittently go into "No Sync" mode and they have to reboot to clear. Any ideas?

Is this a new expansion or an existing one that is now having problems?
If new:
Are you using the factory cable that connects the two cabinets?
If so is the cable seated properly?
Are the LMU cards seated correctly?
Are all cards in the upper cabinet programmed correctly?

Was this cabinet just recently added? Any recent changes?

Thanks guys - system takeover on my part but having these problems last year and a half. I determined the two DTIB24's in cabinet 1 arent the problem. To make a long story short: After much moving, rebooting and reseating of cards on both cabinets problem is solved for now. Since customer reboots system on regular basis not real confident that it is fixed. Yes - factory cable on LMU. One interesting note: When I unplugged APC 750 UPS the system stayed up; however the power supply on cabinet 0 would buzz. As soon as I plugged the UPS back in buzz on power supply went away. Failing power supply?

Nope, most likely a dirty power thing, a sine wave change causing a buzz. The apc cleans it up.

Not sure - just took over a couple of days ago (and I'm a Nortel tech!). Is the quickest way to get software version to reset one of the 30D phones and when it comes up it will show you on the display?

Just dial 605 on any display phone.
