In hyper terminal tried to add a name in the "mailbox" screen for the dial by name setting in voice mail. But it won't "stick" I've tried enter, space, tab after the last letter of the name. Reset the FL VM by the reset button but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas??

Are you placing the curser just BEFORE where the name goes and then type+enter?

From the manual...

These two fields control whether the Dial-By-Name directory function uses the first or last name of the
mailbox user.
The NAME field allows up to 17 characters. Type the first name and the last name. Use a space
between the first and last names. Capitalize the first letter of the first and last names.

The NAME_MODE field tells the Flash-based Voice Mail whether to search using the Last or the
First name. To change this value from Last to First, press the Enter key until you are in the Name
field. Press the Up arrow and the cursor will highlight the “L” in Last. Type “F” and press the Enter
key. The value will change to First.

I'm guessing you are not capitalizing the first letters of the first and last name. Hope this helps.

It is set up for last name, all the other mailboxes work fine. In the name field I entered "J Grant" press enter, and the name goes away. I deleted the mailbox, reset the VM and created another mailbox, with the same result. I have not reset the ksu, but I don't see how that would matter.

Do any of the other MB have only 1 initial plus the full name? What about Jan Grant?
