We moved over from verizon centrex to cox PRI by adding pri card to our vodavi XTS system. We had verizon voice mail but now have vodavi dispatch voice mail.
Issues 1) per Cox they see errors such as slippage and feel PBX is in error. PBX tech says can think of nothing to solve issue. Any ideas. 2) you have to call two times before a connection is established. I tried calling at 6:54 am this morning from my cell, first call according to cell lasted 30 seconds but PBX never answered. second try ok. Sometimes =1st time here busy on line so dial again and rings. Any idea??? Tech says he has set up hunt groups. Happening to all DIDs 3) voice mails blank no messages. 10-15 per day per person. why 4) We are getting recordings of others conversations that do not belong to voice ma8il person. For example somebody ordering pizza both sides of conversation. Or person here conversation with police chief, hangs up checks VM and the conversation just completed there. UWe do not supposedly offer recording for users. 5) When increase # of rings on phone it is dead air of long duration wheh call person. Any way to fix.

1. Is the KSU set to get it's clocking from Cox? If the XTS is programmed correctly, it is seldom the system that is at fault. 2. This may be related to your errors. 3. These msgs are probably hangups to those exts. What does your phone display show? Is Cox sending a hangup disconnect signal? If not, you will need to enable silence detect to recognize a hangup. 4. Is at least one party one of the XTS users? 5. This may be related to your errors.

First off, make sure that the PRI is not coming from a HFC/SIP Softswitch. Cox is now using these in some markets. Softswitches are notorious for causing problems, many of them as you discribed. Second timing should come from the network. Also what PRI card are you using? Is it the PRI/T-1 combo card? They have been known to cause problems unless they have been modified.
