Thanks to everyone that can help.

I am setting up a mailbox to outdial when there are messages. The end user is out in the field. They want the end user to get the messages as they come in. The customer has an xts-ip with a 8 port digital talkpath. Only two years old. I don't know the software level on either units at the time of this posting.

I set up a new cos for the mailbox. Set in the phone number to call and test. The mailbox goes out and calls the cell phone number. But when you go to answer the call, you get dead air. Hitting digits on the phone to get a response from the voicemail calling does no good. No message or response. After 15 seconds of silence, the call is disconnected.'

I tried tech support to get an answer, but after 45 minutes on hold, try again tommorrow.

What script file needs to be in the notification tab to get the voicemail to answer, to retreive the messages. It is play 112 now. I remember tech support having to tell me whatto put in place of the 112 script. One of the guys at the shop said that tech support had him check a box to get the notification to work correctly.

Who is right and what am I missing to get the voicemail to allow the call to be answered on the cell phone, when the voicemail calls with new messages.

Thanks,

Mike

Are they just looking to get message notification or would they be better served getting the calls with a fwd to the cell.

Blank out pager 112. There should be nothing there in that field. Reboot vm and you're good.

I think 112 is just a canned script for simple notification, not for retrieval. We had to create a custom Command File to enable us to retrieve a message during the out call notification. Vertical support can provide the command line info but if not, let us know.

You will not need to use a Command fle as long as the VM is 3.02 or higher remove anything in the notify script.

If it is a hd vm you can copy the cos, change the cos name to cell, change the cos for the mailbox to cell cos, change the script to cell, put in the cell number & presto, it delivers the mail as it comes in.

adteldon is correct, blank out the field. You don't need to write anything.

OldH2oSkier, this has been true on any version, analog or digital.

Yep, 112.CF is just a pager notification string. It dials the number entered, pauses for 12 seconds, dials the mailbox number followed by #, then hangs up.

I always create a separate COS and enter CELLULAR in the command file box for notification. This allows the person called to retrieve messages in the same call.

Thanks all for the replies.

I created a new cos and removed the 112.cf in the notification line.

Tested with the customer and everything was working find.

I got a quicker response from this board than 3 hours on que with tech support.

Again thanks
