We moved a xts-ip pbx for a non profit organization and are facing these various problems:
1. All cards leds are solid red and the phones show system version 1.1 but cannot intercom and seem to be in a locked up mode.
2. Cannot connect via rs232 cable with admin software, connection times out.
We have the admin pc and all software to program the system. We have to reset some voice mail boxes and build up new DIDs in the system. If there is a initial boot sequence that needs to be done that may explain the two problems above. Any advise / help would be much appreciated! merry xmas.

Sounds like possibly a bad battery on MPB. If you default the system (Move DIP 8) and reboot, it will probably come up, but will loose programming.

I would suggest exactly what cswroe did. See if the system comes up in a default state. If so I would get the battery replaced on the MPB or swap it out. Hopefully you have backup!

Thanks guys, there are backup files on the pc but not sure which one it is since we did not do the original backup. There are only 4 folders so I will try each one.

Let this be a reminder for anyone moving a system that is older than 5-7 years. Always backup the database or use a UPS during the move! Especially after 7 years, because the memory battery is totally shot. :bang:

we have run into this problem with increasing frequency on XTSc and STSe but not XTS, not so far, as well as bad capacitors on the back plane on XTSc. We usually find it once the system has gone down due to power issues (after the UPS has run out). We try to back up all of our systems of any size or complexity (ACD, UCD, lots of DID's). It is however a real pain in the neck to deal with
