I ran this install past my supplier and by scott wacket from vodavi and they told me it would work.

I have teh xts lan card installed in my triad 2 cabinet and got 4 8 button telenium phones. I want my clients who work from home to be able to access the system from home.
I am running 4.16 software and 1 problem I have is i dont have the manual for feature pack 4. So i am sort of in the dark as the programming from feat 3 to feat 4 has changed.

Is this possible to achive?

You could work around it and figure it out if fimiliar with XTS programming. However try the link at the top of the page.

Ok so I got a manual and Im still stuck in the same spot.
One thing that I am not understanding is when the lan card is installed it is enabling 4 new co's. What I was hoping for is to be able to dial an extension like 180 and be connect to the remote user at their home.
Do I need to change to 4 digit dialing?
Do I need to use the network tables in flash 16?

No to the 4-digit dialing and also to network tables. Those have nothing to do with simple IP phones hanging off of the system.

Have you configured the phone(s) with the appropriate settings?

Does your IP card have a static IP address? If so, all you need to do is to give the phone's MFIM address this IP address. In the system, you need to tell it the MAC address of the phone in flash 51, page C.

I'm not so sure that the 8 button phones will be supported by 4.16 software, since they came out long after this software was released.

What is showing on the phone's display?

I think you are going to need to use the older 3813 model phones in order to interface with 4.16 software.

yes the card has a static ip address.

On the phone side i have put the same ip address under the mfim setting.

Then I have the phone set to dhcp so it will grab an address from each local lan.

The phone is is set to local instead or remote.

What is the field input device number used for on teh phone? Is this the extension number I would like it to be or should this be like 1-4 to correspond to one for the 4 channels on the lan card?

The when the phone is plugged in to my local lan @ home the display says no connection to mfim.

The only thing in flash 51 page c is timmers and preset fwd destinations I thought?

You need to set the phone to remote. Aside from the MFIM and DHCP settings, ALL other settings are moot. Just skip them in the programming of the phone.

You said that you set the phone's IP address to be the same as the MFIM's address from what I read. This is definitely not right. Don't mess with that setting at all. Change it back to 10.10.10.1 or whatever, so that it doesn't match the IP address of the MFIM, not that it really matters. Just do it so that there is no future confusion.

Is your IP card behind a firewall or router of any kind? I've saved myself a ton of headaches by placing a small switch ahead of the router to split the Internet connection to the IP card. That is standard procedure for us when just placing a few IP phones in remote locations.

Flash 51, page C timers are irrelevant with regard to the phone being able to connect.
