We had a call the other day from someone with a Vodavi Inspire (per my tech) ... they bought a phone off the internet .. and it doesnt work right

my tech said it comes up and says 12 button lcd... but wont respond

any thoughts? .... there isnt much work for us so i am ok with telling her she has to call her original vendor (we lost the deal way back when) but she doesnt like him .. but if it is easy enough i would help her out and make a couple bucks

thanks

It sounds like it is a Vodavi infinite phone. Unless the system is running with infinite software, the phone won't work. Any chance you can find out what the model number is from the KSU? If it is one of their typical systems, the software version would also help us to help you. This can be obtained by dialing 605 from any display phone and recording the information that shows up on the display.

Never heard of a Vodavi "Inspire". I would not do anything until you get more info on the system.

I passed ....

She chose someone else when she bought the initial system.

We moved it for her with the understanding there would be no programming changes.

She then bought a phone off the internet without even asking if i could get one ....

So i passed on this and referred her back to the internet site where she bought the phone.

Funny story, I think I am the vendor that she ended up calling. I troubleshot the system and the phone comes up normally on certain ports, but the "12 BTN LCD-D" comes up on the display on certain ports. It is a Vodavi Triad-S (ksu pn 5000-00. Seems like a bad 3X8 card, but not sure. Anyone ever see this?

Could be a bad card, could be the wrong phone.

Thanks guys - it was the wrong phone (needed to be a 24 button) and they had one that we didn't know about. X100 was bad so we used X107 for the 24-btn set. All is good now, but there is no rs232 or X100 to perform future programming. Will eventually need to replace the 3X8 card I am assuming. Not sure if there is another way to administer the system? Thanks for the advice...it was helpful!!

Did somebody cut off the DB-9 connector on the MPB board?
