Hey all,

I've been reading this forum for a few years now and so far have been able to answer all of my questions through other's posts. Here's my first one!

Yesterday our Vodavi Starplus system quit working. It was working fine from the time the office opened at 7am until around 8:30am. At that time, all of the phones blinked, turned off, then powered back on. We could call internally, but all CO calls lead to a fast busy signal.

Long story short, our contractor came out and said "the cabinet is bad" and went about swapping to a different cabinet. After a couple of hours, our system was back up and running, with CO calls coming in and out. And some basic programming needing to be done.

OK, so *almost* everything is back up and running as it was before.

1.) The DSS on the attendant's phone (x100) works, but is calling the fixed port #'s instead of the flexible numbers (for example my extension is x123, and when she presses x123 on the DSS, it rings to x140. Pressing 611 on x140 shows "Station Port 123"). I can't figure out how to change that. I thought maybe flash 51 instead of flash 50?

2.) We have an extension that is supposed to ring a few times over the intercom when the attendant puts the system into night mode (feature 604 I believe) before going to auto attendant. Instead, those calls go straight to the auto attendant, and it never rings over the intercom? The extension that rings over the intercom is x148. My guess is that night rings should be on for x148 and mailbox should be set to auto attendant, but again I'm not sure how to do that.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thank,
Edward

Number 2 will require the tech to come out and fix.

Number 1 is easy. Just press speed twice this puts the phone into programming mode...press the dss key (it should start flashing) and dial the extension you want it to be. You will get three confirmation beeps. Then pick the next button and dial the extension you want it to be, etc.

Thanks for the reply Derrick. I was hoping #2 was going to be easier than mapping 48 buttons manually :-), but really it won't take that long.

As for the tech coming back out. That's sort of the problem. With all due respect, we don't have the best relationship with him, and because of this I don't think were being treated honestly. Not sure what to do about that.

Thanks again.

You can try the installers link at the top of this page for your area. You can also call Vertical for a list of dealers in your area 1-877-837-8422

Thanks again guys! I looked through the list and there really isn't another provider close enough to make me feel comfortable if an emergency happens. of course, I'm not all that comfortable now, so maybe it's a push. Closest one I could find is about an hour and a half drive.

I'll keep my eyes open, maybe there's someone else who just isn't listed?

BTW: Happy thanksgiving!

How about requesting a tech in the "Request and Installer" category? Might be someone closer.
