I've been tasked with coming up with some documentation for my company and don't want to start from scratch if I can help it. Not to mention I'd appreciate some input from some of the more experienced dealers in the Forum.

Does anyone have any checklists that include the installation process from start to finish? I'm looking to cover site surveys, customer requirements, equipment configuration (cut sheet), etc. If anyone has documentation specifically for the SBX IP 320 that would be very helpful.
All positive input is welcome.

Thanks,

Dave

As with most systems, if the manufacture doesn't supply one then someone has to make one from scratch.
I don't have one, but I'll keep looking.

I put a very extensive one together a few years back when we were doing microwave installations. Yes, the only way to get a good one is to do it yourself. The one I put together is very specific to that endeavor but if anyone wants it, PM me and I'll send it over.

Also - When I did estimating for GTE we had some very good estimating checklists for a variety of applications. I'll try to look for those and see what I can come up with (Down to the dreaded basement I go <shudder>).

Sam, you keep complaining about your basement. Until now, all the houses I lived in had one. This one doesn't, and you don't know what you've got until you lose it! frown John C.

John -

Basements aren't the problem - it's all the crap you throw in them.

I think it was Aristotle who said:

"Crap expands to fill all available space."

Plato followed with:

"Except in Sam's basement where it fills twice the available space."

My Uncle moved in to a 1 bedroom apartment in Manhattan next to Lincoln Center. It's a nice size, but....He says that for every book he buys and keeps - he has to throw one out. That's the only way he can survive without losing his mind.

I found the estimating sheets and PDF'd them. It's a partial manual (missing the specific sheets for the Omni PBX (2,000 lines), The GTD-4600 (7,000 lines) and the GTD-5 CO (100,000 lines). It also dates to 1984. Some items (especially $ amounts) are way off. Most of the labor estimates are (I believe) still valid.

It does have checklists and estimates for Station installation, generic PBX installation, OSP, transmission, Riser cable, etc. (It's about 50 pages total).

Anyone interested, PM me and I'll email it to you.

I just ran on to something you may like.

[sandman.com] under videos a cd of all kinds of cut sheets. This could be a good place to start and mod. to suit.

One should not increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.
