I have been working on older Vodavi DHS systems for years and have never run into this problem. The display phone at extension 10 shows "Callback_ANS PLS" but only when the user presses a line button. With the phone on hook, the date and time and extetension number show like normal. Pressing buttons other than line buttons work, for example, pressing BLF/DSS 11 will ring that phone. I have tried every cancel code I can think of (callback, lock, auto line select, etc.), and the only option I have left is to default the system. Which I could do, but will take more time to program. Anyone run into this?

It would seem that the "CallBack" feature has been invoked by some station---maybe multiple call back requests. Have you tried F*91?? Perhaps it might be a "Camp On" also. Might be a possiblity of a Customized Message being sent by a station---but I don't think the messaging system works that way with the line keys. Personally, I've never run into that particular Display Message before on the DHS.
What model of DHS do you have?

It is a DHS version 2. That is the best I can give you. The customer is far away but found us as a Vodavi dealer. I had him try the F*91 as well as other codes.

The "Camp On" Cancel is F*93
On page 20 there is a discussion of "Call Park Answer"---I see that the display shows "Call Park Ans __" That's the closest I see to what you have in your display. Did they say "Call Back Ans" but mean Call Park Ans??? Or did you see this on the display yourself??
I'm still thinking that it's some sort of camp on type of procedure. Do they have user guides??
Also---about 4 years ago, customer had a DHS and the phones would go to a "locked" mode. We cleared those several times for months---then all of a sudden the whole system went belly-up. We replaced it with a Comdial DX80 and went on from there. JFYI

I've dug through my old Vodavi Technical Fact Notices and have nothing to add to what Mick has given you. At this point, I am guessing that you are going on what the customer told you he sees?

Since the keyset is operating outside of normal acceptable parameters it appears to be a corruption in the database. Default should be the last step. You didn't mention any of the following steps: - Unplug the phone and plug it back in.
- If the customer can reprogram the buttons, try switching a different type of keyset, this should default the station.
- Cycle the power on the KSU.
Of course, you probably tried all these...but it never hurts to state the obvious.

The DHS only uses 1 type of phone. It can be display or not. But not a different type of phone.

Swapping station types to default a port works great with LG products. The DHS is Tecom but I wonder if the DHS would default if the port were to be connected to an SLT adapter? I tend to think it wouldn't but you've got nothing to lose. I've got a ton of them and if you need one, it'd be cheap!

Thank you all for your help. The customer did swap to a non-display and then back to the display phone. I do not think I tried the Camp On Cancel. I am concerned about a system power cycle. If the internal battery is dead, it will default the system. However, with that being said, I think a default might be in order.
