Hello,
I had to move a flash based voicemail from a failed STS KSU to an STSe ksu. The customer now says there's no message lamp turning on for new messages. Is there some I could have missed in programming the newer KSU? I thought I covered all the programming, I would have thought the message light would turn on by default. After looking through the manuals, nothing jumped out at me as being an item I may have missed.

After sifting thru messages here, after a search resulted in zero matches, I think the answer is that the light is not enabled for anything by default. Wonderful design....

The large display light is not enabled for voice mail by default. The message light is not enabled for vm either. However the user created voice mail key (usually code 440) (not the soft key) will light.

Wonderful design....
Since it can be used for different functions, it was probably less problematic to leave the lamp alone at default.

As i recall, the large lamp at top right of the lcd screen was used as a (3) three function light.
Yes, it has to be assigned by installer upon Installation.
I would say it is very creative because you get more bang for your buck.

Thanks guys, it's fixed. I guess the difference in terminology threw me momentarily. I'm looking for "message waiting lamp", when I should have been looking for "Light Control". If I had installed more than 4 of these, I think the programming procedure would have stuck in my head. For whatever reason, programming thru ext 100 didn't work. I had to use the laptop to have the change take effect.

Sometimes PC programming can be a little more intuitive.
