I need some kind of assistance with the Vodavi phone system that we have. This is at one of our branch locations and I inherited the system. I am not familar with Vodavi at all but I am with others such as Meridian,Avaya, and Inter-Tel. This system apparently had been supported by a 3rd party but they apparently no longer exist. I do not have a manual for they system nor any software to connect to it. From looking at the cards I see a chip that says GDK-34 MODU V1.1A Also the card is in a 8073-00 Chassis, and it appears to have a GDK-100 power supply? The problem with the system at the moment is that the voicemail is not working. We have one of these Vodavi DHD-08 8-Port. If you try to dial VM it just rings and rings. It never picks up. Any idea where I can start troubleshooting?
thanks

It sounds like you have an old dvx plus 2, or triad system. Have you tried a resetting the phone system and voice mail? The gdk-34 modu is a modem card to dial into the system remotely.

what are the lights on the voicemail? Are all 8 lights on? If just the first one is on its not booting and could be a hard drive failure.

ah.. you are right just 1 light is on. And a HD failure is certainly possible, the big storm that hit the east coast on the 29th of June might have crashed it.
If it is an HD, do I just need to replace it? will it auto format a new HD? or do I need to have one with some kind of software on it already.
Thanks

You need one with software already on it.

You can by Flash Card replacement kits for these through Target Distributing I believe. It replaces the hard drive with a Compact flash and no more hard drive!!!
