Deltacom offers NEC, IPK II & SV8000 platforms. There were 4 out 6 of their techs in my IPK II Advanced class last year.

The Minneapolis St. Paul area has a couple of CLECs that have been bundling systems for years and now Hosted is being pushed as well. Makes it a little tough at times.

Rudy - Don't do it, I can give you dozens of references that wish they had not committed to DeltaCom.

Seems like every week or two we toss out a Deltacom system and replace it because the end user did not like dealing with Deltacom.

Ditto Lane, and if his dozen isn't enough I have another dozen.

BTW Rudy, Lanecomm deals with the same Deltacom gang you are listening to.

They also have no technicians in this area - they are all subs.

On top of the dozen John has I will raise him a dozen and through in a handful that have paid a penalty just to get away from them.

Rudy - if you want a solid system at a fair price with skilled techs we service 100 mile radius of Ocala.

IPKII, Now I see why D/C's nec service leaves a lot to be desired in this area. Only 6 techs for all the area D/C "services"! frown John C.

Found this thread after doing a search for Paetec after being contacted about possibly doing some work for them. I have not committed to anything yet. I don't see anything negative posted about Paetec.

Unrelated to Paetec, but seemingly in line with this thread, I got a call Friday late afternoon from a former customer who bought a system that was "bundled" with their dial tone from their provider, after we had demoed a system that would have fit them just fine. They had an elevator company reconstruct an elevator to meet current code and were desperate to have the elevator phone connected for an inspection Sunday. Their phone vendor was "unable" to provide a tech for this "over the weekend". I think the choice on who to buy the system from was choice made by a board not a single person, so I went ahead and did the work. I was surprised about the phone system and dial tone vendor's response.

Bob

With all the variables involved, I am amazed when any voice and data technology works like it is supposed to.

Paetec is know for going after customers phone system when they become the dialtone provider.
Be careful about sharing your customers with them.
