I installed one at a C.O. That I USED to work in. I put it on a Norstat system. It's a pretty simple install, 66 block- xconns to extentions. Hookup the base stations, program the extention type in the MCU and your cookin'. The hand sets are solid, though a little heavy. The head sets where kinda' bulky but worked well. The reception on the phones was outstanding. I found the range to be greater than was indicated on their specs and I was in very radio noisy enviroment.

The only trouble I had was a another spectralink on a Meridian system in the same building. If I was closer to one of their base stations I was picked up by their MCU. It didn't work but it did raise some security concerns. If I already had a call established I could roam near their area with no trouble. Spectralink tech support had no solution for this. You can't "change channels". Well at least a couple of years ago.

I was a very nice system, saved a lot of time .

CORRECTION: "IT" was a very nice system, although, I wasn't so bad myself.

Went on site; it is a 150 mcu but the base station and phones are Avaya. There were no manuals with the system; just a avaya ip disk; could not find any info on how to cross connect the station from the switch (definity) or how to connect the basestations. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe I can help you. I have manuals on spectra-link and I am certified. I have installed many of these in Wingate Hotels with the Comdial DXP-PLUS. I think they are great but expensive. Also find out if there are any cordless phones onsite. The spectra-link will cause a clicking noise to be heard in some cordless phones. The spectra=link can be adjusted for this but I have to know the make of the cordless phones.
