Does anybody know how to trouble shoot this unit? There is a school in town that has one and the CD input has quite. They had a power fail and it did not come back. The CD player is working fine, checked the output, with butt set, but the is not sound coming out to the ceiling speakers. I called bogen but as I am not a dealer can't help. Thanks guys.

Did you check the amp to see that it had power? Sometime it'll trip the reset button on an amp.

I can help you with this. Just don't tell anyone I did it. Bogen does not want anyone but the dealer working on these. The CD is connected to a small card pannel in the bottom of the unit. There are three slots numbered 1 through 3. You first have to know which card slot it is connected to. Next you have to go to the Bogen admin phone (not the telephone system phone) and press the speaker button - dial 9 and you should see the main menu. Press 2 on keypad to go to Audio Program. Press 1 to select the source then enter the source number the CD player is connect to - 1, 2, or 3. Next go to Audio Program Menu and select Distribute. From here you select either 1 for speaker ( an individual speaker), 2 for zones (pre assigned paging zones) or 3 for all speakers. Your music should be playing now if the CD player is on and started. If you have a power outage everything resets and you have to do this again. If you have problems, check my web site, get my phone number and call me.

I have a similar problem with a Bogen 2000 Multicom. After a power outage the tape in was also lost and reconfigured as mentioned. But, now some of the speakers on the system are not responding. Some stations can be paged; no page, but can listen. Does anyone have any information on this type situation?

This is a very old thread you would be better off starting a new thread with you question and details of problem.

If it was built after 1980 don't expect it to work right.
