I am considering purchasing a new Altigen system for my corporate office (v. 5.0). I have access to a couple of older systems with voip cards and local CO cards that I would love to put in our other branch office to network back to corporate. One of them has 4.0 and the other has 4.5. Both of these older systems would cost around $1500-1700.
Can you network 5.0 and 4.x Altiware? Any functionality loss in doing so (assuming it's possible to begin with)? Is this a good/bad idea in your opinion for any reason (Internet connection quallity aside as these two locations ping each other over the Internet at a mere 36ms on average and almost no jitter)?
Really looking for input on whether it's a good or bad idea to try networking different Altiware versions.
Thanks!
