I'm starting a new topic on the TalkSwitch Pbx. See www.TalkSwitch.com if you are wondering what this is. I just installed one and have an order to install another one. The whole PBX is about the size of a 3-ring binder. It takes 4 lines and 8 extensions. You can join up to four of the systems together using Ethernet, giving you a maximum system size of 16 lines and 32 extensions. What I like abou it is that it is eas to configure using a Windows based program. If you have installed Talkswitches, I would like to get you thoughts on them.

I have installed one for a beginning business and quickly removed it after 6 months when they needed a real system. It works as well as expected though considering what it cost and the needs at that time.

Why would you remove it?? What did they need from a "real" telephone system?
I'm no TalkSwitch fanboy, but i've used these sytems on numerous occasions for small offices and remote offices, and they're perfect! They're only limitations is that they can only support a limited number of phones, so a large office is out. Besides that, it's a perfect PBX.

Ed,
Please don't kill this topic. It's about time someone responded. Just think of this as a slow topic.

O.K. Grim,
I'll be the devil's advocate. You say you installed one and had another one scheduled. Are they still in service and do they still like them? How about service work, or did you just install them and forget them?
Inquiring minds like to know....

I have now installed five (5) Talkswitch units. I have never heard back from any of these customers. I was concerned about this until someone pointed out that if they were having any problems, I would have heard back from them.
Since most very-small customers don't expect to pay for service calls during the first year after installation, this is a good thing.

GR, there's always the possibility that THEY CAN'T CALL YOU! OK, Ok, I apologize for yelling! I just could not resist the old tired joke. You could not have set it up better if you were trying to. Thanks. John C. (Not Garand)

GR, tell us what are the good and bad features of the talkswitch, and how do you present it. I figure by now you've been through the ringer on the system, just like any other system any of us ever sold/installed. And don't hold back, it has to have drawbacks and problems of some sort, it was made by man. Every system has it's good and bad points. John C. (Not Garand)
