Need some help on an issue we are running into for one of our customers.... We used to be a Siemens dealer but moved to Vodavi (Now Veritcal) about 4 or 5 years ago and discontinued our dealership with Siemens.
We still have a HiPath 3550 at a customer site that has been running on a Level 3 PRI for years. The customer just switched over to another carrier (D&E) for the PRI and now all of their outbound calls are sending the 3-digit extension number as their outbound caller ID. The customer wants their main phone number to be sent but the new carrier is telling us that they can only send what our PBX is sending??? They use a softswitch as their CO for the PRI so I don't know if that makes a difference. Anyway, my tech that is most familiar with the Seimens systems took a look but could not find anywhere in the programming to set what the outbound caller ID should be. Does anybody know if it can be done and where to make the changes?
Thanks, Timbo

One option would be to ask the provider if their softswitch allows for a BTN (Billing Telephone Number) be assigned to the PRI.
In my environment (5ESS), if a BTN is assigned to a PRI, the BTN will be reflected on caller ID for all outbound calls across that PRI.

Mike, yeah we already asked them and that's when they told us that they can't do that if our PBX is sending digits...they say they have to honor the digits we are sending.... Sounds like a crock to me but you know how it is trying to work with these carriers. I swear they go out of their way to make things harder than they should be.
Thanks for the reply!

Check in system parameters> flags if configurable clip is checked. If not check it and in the clip field of station programming put the number you want sent, as an example 5555555555
