Hello all,
I'm looking at taking on some of the installation side of things for the municipality I work for and I was wondering what I need to get started. I currently do their computer support and I have an interest in the telecommunications side of things. Currently we are very pressed for space and as a result we are always shuffling offices and as a result we do a lot of phone moves. I would like to start with just doing some internal phone moves. I'm in Canada so I'm dealing with Bix blocks. I can't seem to find any courses or seminars on the in and outs of the equipment involved but I did find a Bix wiring guide from Nortel.
I'm fairly certain I can dive in with a decent book and a toneg enerator/probe kit but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions. I already have a Bix punch down tool which I have aquired in my wanderings.
