Hello to All, I've found lots of good info on this forum. I'm really hoping someone can point me in the right direction for this current problem I am facing. I've just been put in charge of our AltiGen IP phone system and basically I know nothing about it. I went to add a new extension for a new employee and I am having problems. I based the extension profile on another working extension. I copied all of the settings from one to the new one and the phone will not receive incomming calls. I get a std error message saying that the number is not in service. It can receive calls from other IP Phones within our system. It can call out both in house and outside numbers. It just can't get incomming calls and it's driving me nuts. The phone model is a IP710. I upgraded the firmware to the latest. We are using AlitSupervisor version 5.04 with the latest updates. I do know it's not the phone hardware thatis the problem, as I am able to log into the phone with another working extension and it works. Also I log in to a working phone with the new "problem" extension and the same problem occurs. Any help would be so VERY appreciated as this new employee is impatiently waiting for his new phone to be installed as it's an intrigal part of his job functions. Thanks in advance!

Well if you are really using the latest version of the Firmware, that is likely part of your issue. The latest Firmware, 2164 is not for Altigen 5.0 systems no matter the service pack. If you give me some more detail, I can give some more aid.

You may want to make sure you are licensed for the additional phones.

Thanks for your replies. I found out I was using an extension that our system was not configured to use. I told you I was new to it! Strange that it worked internally and I could call outside but not externally. And I checked with my boss and we are fully licensed for the phones that we have. Before I realized the problem I asked him about licensing and he almost looked insulted that I would even ask such a thing. We bought enough licenses to cover the phones that we bought when we initially purchased the system so yes, it is a fully licensed. Trust me, my boss wouldn't let an unregistered version of Winzip run on our network much less anything else. Thanks again for all your help guys! I do appreciate your time.
