I have tried changing the amplification on the moh files, uploaded, and tested, and all seems like the same volume. What is the best practice for adjusting the volume of MOH on a Cisco Call Manager v6.x?

Thanks,

Although some of the responders would say reinstall the 'files' in a 'legacy' system smile , remember that MOH is really for reassuring the customer that he hasn't been hung-up on. That said, info feeds generally don't work out as MOH content. As music, how does it sound? John C.

the quality of the music is fine, except that it is quite loud. Our classical and jazz is very loud, to some. I just need to tone it down a bit, and it seems like everything I try comes out with the same volume. I figured I would try to get the right answer before fooling with it too long.

Ah, I assumed (Yes, I Know) the problem was LOW levels, not HIGH levels. I suppose you've already tried turning down the music feed source? John C.

The MOH is a file that I uploaded into the Call Manager server. I then created a Music On Hold Audio Source and applied the file to that Audio Source. Then I went to my Testing Extension's device page, and set internal and external MOH to that audio source.

If there is a way to 'turn it down' I can't find it.

Thanks!

I'm not sure how the CM works but most systems you need to control the volume from the MOH source. So that would mean that you would need to rerecord the original file with lower volume and upload it again.

That is what I did, but seems to be the same volume.

This is all internal - so there's no way to insert a physical attenuator on to the source?
You mentioned Internal & External Music -can you bring the source out (on a port), attenuate it with an L-Pad (or similar) and then feed it back in again?

Forgive me if I'm completely off base but I am unfamiliar with the CM.

Thanks Sam, but I would think if I wanted to do that, I would just plug up a cd player and be done with it. Of course, then I would have to install a sound card into the server....

There HAS to be a way to tone it down.
