I found a CO Line Simulator online. It's called the Micro Seven LS100 Mini-PBX simulator, and it is basically a small central office. You can assign phone numbers to each of the 8 "lines" up to 18 digits long each. This is very cool, and I am wondering if anyone has one or knows anything about it. Thanks.

I have used this one. Not as fancy, not very expensive.
The Viking Electronics DLE-200B Line Simulator produces two way communication between standard telecom products such as modems, fax machines, Key Systems, PABX’s and standard single line telephones. The Line Simulator can also provide sales people with a cost effective, easy to use method of conducting on site demonstrations, eliminating the need to locate phone lines and disrupt the customer’s phone service.
The DLE-200B Line Simulator provides precise dialtone, DC talk battery and standard or distinctive ringing. The unit also provides a CPC break on hang up.

With all the variables involved, I am amazed when any voice and data technology works like it is supposed to.

I picked up a 4 port Teltone TLS-4 at the local Goodwill a few years ago for $20 or so.. It's a handy thing to have sitting on the shelf..
