I am working on a Siemens 3300. When I tried to connect (via serial port and ethernet) to it with the Manager E App (Ver 315), I get an error stating "Transmission error in receive mode". I've checked the baud rate (9600) and the IP address. Everything I've tried has not work ( null modem serial cable, Cross over patch cable...etc.) I am able to get into system programming via the phone, but I am more proficient with the Manager E. My questions are; Has anyone seen this error? and Is there a solution to this?

Could it be that the version of Manager you are using is not the correct one for the PBX software? Just guessing here.

No. I tried using another laptop. It had Manager E version 310.

When using the null modem cable ensure the baud rate is the same on both the V.24 port being used and and the correct serial port on the PC.
Also try using 19200.
Also use the V.24 port on the motherboard.

A few other things would be:
The comm settings on the phone system. (Check using a handset)
Port 1, 19200 baud.
The comm settings on the Manager E program.
Port 1, 19200 baud.
The comm settings on the PC used.
Port whatever, 19200 baud.
