Not sure how to set up a mailbox for an off-site user that has no in-house telephone. Couln't see how to set this up without using up a port on the phone system. They have a small in-skin voicemail with about 50 mailboxes. The part I don't get is how to call-forward the incoming calls immediately to the mailbox. Not a NEC genius, just took over this system. Thanks for any input!

You can just create a mailbox & set the transfer to no. But that will only allow access through the VM main menu. To allow access through the KSU you would need to create a car key(virtual port). They are created in groups of 4 in MB 1-2-4. Name the station in 4-10. Then forward that station always to VM pilot.

also be sure to turn off the notification led. it will sometimes freak the vm out trying to light a light that doesn't exist.

Ok I think I get it... was trying to maintain the voice boxes through the attendant mbx, looks like we will have to get the administrative software for the voicemail in order to set up the group of virtual mailboxes. Thanks for your help guys!

the software you'll need is called co-sessions. the older versions is dos based. the newer one nec is shipping with the vm is a windows based. version 7 i think. you'll also need a null modem cable.
