We have a variety of needs and I am wondering if an NEC system fits any of these needs. I basically would like to know what features certain models support.

Desired Feature #1 - Ability to hit a key combo that will call back the sender of a voicemail when listening to a voicemail from a remote phone

Desired Feature #2 - Ability for the system to connect callers to our cell phones with a call screen if possible.

I also should add, if you know of a system that can do the above I would be greatly interested in your recommendation.

I greatly appreciate your help in advance!

Thanks,

Chris

Desired Feature #1 - Ability to hit a key combo that will call back the sender of a voicemail when listening to a voicemail from a remote phone

(caps added to seperate.....)

YES. GOT TO HAVE CALLER ID SET UP IN THE SYSTEM AND ALL THE REQUIRED HARDWARE (COID OR COIB CARDS FOR ALALOG TRUNKS. OR PRT FOR PRI OR DTI FOR T1. MIFM CARD WITH KMM TO STORE THE CALLERID (NOT REALLY NEEDED). ALSO MUST SET UP CALLERID CALL RETURN IN THE VM BOXES (THIS IS A PER BOX SETTING)

Desired Feature #2 - Ability for the system to connect callers to our cell phones with a call screen if possible.

SURE! BUT IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU MEAN HERE. IF YOU WANT THE VM TO TRANSFER CALLS TO YOU, YOU'D NEED A VM CARD (OF COURSE). 4 DIFFERENT NOTIFICATION SETTINGS PER VM BOX ON 4 DIFFERENT SCHEDULES.

OR DO YOU MEAN HAVE YOUR PHONE FORWARDED TO YOUR CELL AND WHEN SOMEONE TRANSFERS A CALL TO YOU IT WOULD RING YOUR CELL. NO PROB HERE EITHER. BASIC CALL FORWARD OFF PREMISE. NOTHING SPECIAL FOR THE HARDWARE.

OR DO YOU WANT A PHANTOM EXT (CAR KEY) THAT GOES TO YOUR CELL. NOT A PROBLEM THERE EITHER. BUILD A PHANTOM EXT (CAR KEY) THEN CALL FORWARD OFF PREMISE TO YOUR CELL. NO SPECIAL HARDWARE THERE EITHER.

The NEC Aspire system and the inskin Aspire mail will do all of that and it is built in the software.

No need for additional cards as the Elite series does.

You need Centrex Lines or PRI to really do call transfering off site.

Firstly, thanks everyone for your help! I am wondering whether any of the NEC systems are capable of a call screen. For example, I would like callers to connect to my cell phone but prior to connection I would like the system to ask the caller to say their name. The system will then contact me on my cell and give me an option whether to accept or reject the call. I am wondering if the DS2000 system will do the above features, including the call return from within voicemail? Where is the best place to buy these systems? Do you know of any place I could try out before I buy? I am located in the Chicago area? Thanks Again, Chris

I have tried to do a call screening transfer to a cell phone & it will usually work, but it is nothing that I would promise a customer would work every single time. Simply set your call transfer number up, include you trunk grp access code & activate call screening. I find it better to call fwd all from the station to the cell phone. Hope this helps.
