I'm mainly an Avaya tech, but my company got a call to work on a NEC Electra Professional, so they sent me. On the first digital station module, ports 3 and 6 don't work. I swapped out the module with a new one, and 3 and 6 still don't work. I changed out the cabinet and put the new module in slot 4 for 8 more digital stations, and still no success. Please someone help me. Thanks!

is this a level 1 or 2 (not that it matters much they both have the same type connectors)? i'm guessing you kept the same wiring harness when you swapped out the cabinets right?

on those cards, is there litle plastic thingys (tech term there) with wires coming out of them?? is so, those things will go bad.

find an unused set of them (each plastic thing controls 2 stations each. so ports 1&2 are on 1 thing, 3&4 on another and so on).

and replace the ones controlling 3&4 & 5&6 (if it's normal wiring it should be wt/gn&wt/br for 3&4, wt/st&rd/bl for 5&6. but it could be any of them).

you'll have to move the cross connect jumpers to the new colors.

see if that helps

Don' forget that at the station jacks if you are using ETW sets they terminate on the Blk/Yellow pairs.

Thanks for the help guys. I was terminating the station on the middle pair, and not the blk/yellow pair. Thanks again. worked like a charm!
