I need to know if the NEC Aspire can be setup on my Cable connection which has a dynamic IP address? or......do I need to order DSL with a static IP address in order to get the VoIP to work properly.

Any suggestions would be great!

Mike

Are there any programs out there or any other methods that will automatically detect when the ip address changed and automatically change the configuration?

Or do you think its possible to have a programmer write a program to do so?

Thanks!

The Main Processor requires an Static IP. However, you can use an IP phone on your cable modem.

So your saying the main location I have needs to have a static ip? and the other locations are fine if theres no static ip?

Are there any methods for keeping my cable modem which does not have a static ip in my main location? Theres got to be a way.

Depending on who your provider is. If comcast good luck. I ahd a customer running VOIP phones on their appartment campus for almost a year, new spam regs came out and Comcast changed their IP protocols and bang no more connectivity because Comcast changed to non routable IPs. Go DSL or point to point T.

DynDNS.org is the solution.
