I have a tech who installed an on hold unit and didn't know how to program the NEC phone and the on hold message is playing over the speaker. The question is how do you turn off the message from playing over the speaker on the phone? The handset is in the cradle with the mic light on. They have a NEC Electra Pro Level system
with ETW 8-2 (BK) TEL phones.

I have tried:
feature 2 - 6
function 2 - 6 - function
intercom #1

None of those are working. Please advise!

I got a question that maybe you can help me with. I was trying to get into programming mode on an Electra Elite 48 (Plastic Case).
The manual I purchased online indicated I do a series of steps located in section 320 Programming Operations. When I do this at ext 100 port 01 or ext 101 port 02 I get an error tone. Their is no ICM button on the 32 line display phone I'm using. Altough I do recieve intercom dial tone when I go off hook. The manual is dated April 1983 Issue IV ND-16982. It has the phone display overlay of an old 16 CO button executive station.

Is there a more current manual or manuals I need if so were?

I'm trying to program line 5 to ring only at ext 101 (port 02) day mode and nite mode.

I'm a Panasonic dealer and this customer with a NEC 48 Electra Elite was recommended to me because of my reputation with other customers.

Thanks in advance!

You say the manual was printed in 1983, one of systems NEC had at that time was the Electra 16/48 or the 616 and the only display they had was a little window in the middle of the phone that would show extension numbers and program numbers while in the program mode. The Elite did not come out untill the 90's

Your correct, I just check the name on the manual and its the NEC Electra 16/48. I didn't realize the difference. Do you know a good source to download the Elite manual from?

Thanks alot for info.
