Background: The PBX was recently replaced. Used to be classic architecture. Remote office is 1k miles away. Voicemail is functional as well as PBX.
I am trying to connect to the AD-40 via cosessions. When it calls(ext 390), I go directly to the main greeting(ext 100). I discovered that we had 390 E600 to 100. The strange thing is this:
Technician on site verified that ext 390 is the dial up line to the ad40 by calling another ext in office using traditional analog phone.
Although I get main greeting (with no rings, mind you)when calling 390, technician on site hears the modem pickup and try to handshake.
If I take out the E600 on 390 to 100, I call back and get RNA. The modem again tries to handshake on the ad40.
How is this possible?

Take a look at split CFW command 6523-6525. This allows the outside party to follow CFW and internal parties do not cfw.
