I was wondering what if anything do I need to program to hook up music on hold on a NEC Elite 48.Will it work as sson as I hook up my Rca Cord? Thanmks,Dennis

The physical connection is as simple as connecting the music source to the rca jack. However, each trunk has to be programmed to utilize the external music source. If you are not familiar with programming the Elite I suggest you call your vendor to perform the connection/programming.

I suggest you use the internal MOH music that comes with the system. It's no repeatative and sounds great! (just Kidding) 1-8-31 is correct, set it to Ext. (line key 2) should be good to go.

Does the phone require more than low level audio cables? Meaning RCA's typically are sent out of a receiver or CD player and have no real power.

Or does the NEC Elite require like a headphone jack to output to it?

low level should be fine but i have hooked it up to cd players & radios as well
