Greetings everyone,
I was wondering if anyone of the NEC techs here know by chance what the pin-outs are for the expansion connecting cable that goes from the a CPUB of the main cabinet to EXP board in the expansion cabinet.
Is it a straight through cable? or is there a specific pin-out for it?
Reason I am asking is that I need to relocate my expansion cabinet, as it right now sits on top of the main cabinet. I need to move it a bit further away, and the original cable just won't reach with the new setup.
Any insights are muchly appreciated.

it's not spec'ed out in the hardware manual. i'm guessing it's a straight thru cable.
i'm also guessing that it's short for a reason. if you get it too long the signal may not go thru.
if you're going to experiment, i'd get an extra cable to play with and splice onto.

Although this weekend, I willl down the system and check with a meter. I will see if I can also get the MINI CX-50 connectors that's used on these cables. I sure don't want to chop a cable up just for experiment. <BTW: does NEC have a separate part # for the cable only?> It seems that I have to purchase an EXP board to get the cable??? Anyway, I will report on what I find, and see how far away the exp box can be relocate. Thanks again. Dan

not really sure if you have to buy an exp card to get the cable or not. ask your dealer if they can order it for you special.

If anyone here has one of these cables, even aftermarket etc, I would sure be interested. I will call one of the custom cable makers here and see if they can make one up for me, if I give them the pinouts. Tomorrow, I am gonna visit some of the used computer shops here to see if they have any straight through cables with them mini CX-50 connectors. Dan
