My laptop died ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/frown.gif) (sniffle, sniffle. It's been with me all these years). My problem. The backup laptop available doesn't have any serial ports on it. I need to get into a DS2000 but the connection there is via the com port. Can I adapt from my parallel <sp> port and still get in? What settings in the software do I need to change if so?

Get a usb->serial converter and pray. Most people don't have a problem with them though.

The USB to Serial was ordered this morning when I first figured out that the laptop MB had actually died. I was hoping to get in the switch today to do some programming though.
Thanks Coraltech!
