Can anyone tell me the differnce between the instruction messgae and the announcement message? Our system currently has the generic message "Thank you for calling..." We would like to record our own message but we are unsure which option to use.

I have researched the Instruction and Annoucenment recording steps and have determined the Instruction mailboxes are 0-7 and the Announcements mailboxes are 8 - 14. Does it matter which mailbox you use for the introduction message?

Thanks in advance.

Instruction are for Auto Attendant use. Announce are for ACD announcements and so forth.

I use the Instruction message as the main greeting with dialing options and have the Announcement mailbox for things like directions or company specials.
