I've an Electra Elite 192 I need to move. I'd like to make a backup of the system, so I need to software. Does anyone have the heart to give me a copy, or direct me to a site which has the software(free or non-free)? I'm needing this soon, I've a system to move. The NEC manuals for system hardware aren't very well written either, so if I mess up, I want to have a backup.

1st things 1st. you'll need a mifm card in your system. if you don't have that no need for the sat software

Has the card, I'm just curious what software, and what I need to access the stupid nec. I bought the electra elite 192 manuals.. what a waste of good money. They are useless to me since I also need to know how to move the system. I was wanting the amp layout. NEC writes horrid manuals.

To do a system back up you will need the NEC Technician SAT software. It's specific to NEC, and depending on the version of your ROM/Software, you will need a relatively recent version to make sure that it works. Be careful though, since the software can easily leave you with a REALLY screwed up system, if you enter a wrong setting somewhere in one of the many screens.

Now, it's not really necessary for you to "backup" the system's settings, although it's a good safety measure.

The AMP pinout on your system is pretty simple to figure out. Basically, NEC 192 system has 7 slots, and each slot of the system has 8 pairs of wires terminated to it. So, each of your cabinets would have 3 AMP Connectors, with first connector serving slot 1 - 3, 2-6 and 7&8 on the last connector.

When you move the system, if your installation was done properly, you can remove your BIX/Punchdown blocks with your system, and just punch it down at your new site and leave your existing site's wiring pretty well intact.

It sounds like you may be in over your head on this one. It might be WELL worth the cost to hire a NEC tech for a couple of hours to get this moved for you. Good luck.

I have been responding to dragon through emails and have explained what you just did. I think your right and I suggest he get a NEC tech. also

I know the layout from looking at the blocks, but my complaint is its not in the book explaining like the Nortel manuals. I want to know everything about the system, but it seems NEC writes horrid manuals which aren't 100% complete with needed information.

I'd rather burn in hell then supporting NEC or any of its vendors. I don't support people who are very closed to who they allow to be vendors. I'm an opensource software person as well, so I expect companies to have some type of freeness . Like Nortel Remote Utilities software.

If you remember I suggested to you that the "hardware manual" and Feature & specs" manual would be helpfull to you as well as the "program" manual you purchased. The hardware manual has the 66' block/amp diagrams.
