I am trying to locate a user manual for the nec dtu-8d-2 phone. Also do anyone know if it is compatible with the infoset 408 system. My company put me in charge of installing and setting up an infoset 408 system with 4 dtu-8d-2 phones with voice mail. I am having lots of trouble.
1) Can not get the music on hold to work with external source.
2) Can not turn on voice mail?
Thanks for any help

there really isn't a SPECIFIC manual for the 8d phone. there is a multiline user guide for the elite series systems as well as one for the level 1 stuff & the level 2 stuff. what system do you have?

Programming the 8d phones depend on which system you install it on. Check your cable for you external music on hold. You might need a seperate card for external sources like paging and EXMOH depends on the system.

jgb>>sorry my bad. i didn't notice the infoset in your post!

dtu8d phones should be compatable with the infoset.

as for the vm. it should come "on" when the system is powered up. if it isn't then make sure that it is fully seated in the slot & the screw that holds it in is tight. be sure the system is turned off! also can you dial exts 50 or 51? those are the exts that the vm resides on. you might check function 206 to be sure ext numbers are assigned to the vm.

moh.....function 002-1 is used to set music source for music on hold. need to check that. function 002-6 is for background music source. function 011 is for background music destination. also need to make sure that it is connected to the correct rca jack on the side of the system. 1 is moh in, the other is page out.
