I've spent quite some time trying to get caller ID working. Made some progress too, but still cannot get the recall feature working. (The station display does show caller id on incoming calls)

The switch is an Electra Elite 192. I've installed a MIFM board along with a KMM chip.

4-12 has defined a button as F08 but I'm a bit unsure. The last hardware change was to add the KMM chip. Since doing that I expected it to work.

Rather than troubleshoot what I've done, what's expected to be done when adding a callerID recall button? What areas should I look for.

Thanks much,

it needs to be a scroll key not a feature access

OK, at first glance (I was looking at the wrong station port) I was wrong. I did program this button as a SCROLL.

Let's dig deeper, what underlying programming might cause the scroll button not to function?

7-3-04 seems was set to 01, I just tried 00. The only other setting is 02. The manual is not specific as to what the setting data means.

Uncertain what 4-44 does or how to configure it.

I don't know how you have your system programmed, but on my 192, if the call is just a general Ring Assignment to a couple of stations, I don't think the CALLERID feature on NEC captures that call.

However, if you do a DIT/DID call to the station, then the CALLERID number normally is captured, as well as the name information.

Yup, I also agree with others on this board as to the limited capability of NEC's callerid function, particularly on the elite 48/192 lines. Hope they would improve with future upgrades to IPK to include time of call, and linking name and number together, so that you get what the caller's name is.

does the phone display the callerid at all when it is rining?

7-3-04 should be set to 01

1-8-08 need to allow callerid in class of service. pg4lk4=on,pg5lk7=on

4-01/02 that line(s) have to ring on the phone in order to view/store the callerid

4-17 assign the phone to the class of service

1-1-78 that port also has to be in here (max of 15)

4-44 is when you use the callerid call return. it specifys the trunk group to use (ie 9)
------------------------------------------
from the features & specs:
Press the Scroll key to display the most recently saved ID. Repeatedly
press the Scroll key to display additional Caller ID names/numbers. A
maximum of 50 Caller ID names/numbers can be displayed (MIFM
V5.00 or higher). A lower MIFM version only allows 10 Caller ID
names/numbers.

To return a call to the number displayed on the LCD using the
Scroll Key:Press the Scroll Key until the desired number to be called back is
displayed. While the number is displayed, go off hook. The system
automatically accesses an outside line and dials the displayed
number.

Five users can access the Scroll function at the same time. IN USE
is displayed on the Multiline terminal of another user that tries to
access it.

When a call transferred to a station goes unanswered and is
transferred again, Caller ID information is not stored in the scrolling
bin at that station.

COID(4)/(8)-U( ) or COIB(4)/(8)-U( ) ETUs must be installed in the
Basic B64-U10 KSU slots S1~S4 and/or the first expansion B64-U10
KSU slots S1~S4 to receive Caller ID indication (S7000 or lower).

COID(4)/(8)-U( ) or COIB(4)/(8)-U( ) ETUs can be installed in any
interface slots (S1~S8) of any cabinet (1~3) to receive Caller ID
indication (S8000 or higher).

The DIR key provided with the Electra Elite IPK terminals performs
the same function as the Caller ID Scroll key.

When the CO line key is flashing red (Incoming CO call), the user can
press Feature + LK to display Caller ID even when Caller ID is not
normally displayed (S3000 or higher).

When an incoming call is answered before Caller ID is sent, the
Caller ID is not displayed.

For the ANI/Caller ID information to be saved in a station Caller ID
Scroll log, one of the following conditions must occur:
• The station must answer the ringing call while ANI/Caller ID is
displayed.
• The station receives a ringing call with ANI/Caller ID display,
and no system-wide station, including voice mail, answers the
call.

When the Scroll key is used, a maximum of 50 Caller IDs can be
stored in System Memory (MIFM V5.00 or higher). Earlier MIFM
versions allow only 10 Caller IDs. When 50 Caller IDs are stored and
an additional call is answered, the first Caller ID is erased from
System Memory. Press the Scroll key to display the stored Caller IDs.
When you go Off-hook, the displayed Caller ID is automatically
dialed. The LCR or ARS feature is required for the Automatic Dial Out
option.

The data in programming 4-12 reads.

02/12:L13+SCROLL

Is this right?

Port 02 is the station I'm checking.
