Hello,

just as many of you guys, we are an IT Dept. who is taking over the phone system in our company. It has been pretty easy until I came over this one problem that is driving me crazy.

We have DTU-8D-2(BK)TEL and DTU-16D-2(BK)TEL handsets. Now, our problem is the following:

Particular extension was configured on a 16 button handset (DTU-16D-2(BK)) including a voicemail and quick access voicemail button. However, somehow the handset was replaced with 8 button handset(DTU-8D-2(BK)TEL).

Now the quick access voicemail button does not function because it is configured to work on a 16th button but currennt handest has only 8 buttons.

I have looked everywhere, tryed everything with no luck. Any suggestions?

Programming is required to change some buttons. If it a feature access button you can try moving it to another feature access key. To program a feature access key:
Feature-
Redial-
Button to program-
1xxx- xxx=vm lead
feature-
Hope this helps.

The problem is: the button that needs to be programed is a live line. If you click on it, you get a dial tone.

If I do the following:

1. Click on FEATURE
2. Click on REDIAL
3. Select the button to be programed
(this is where it fails, because its a live line I can't continue with programing)

Thanks for your time and help.

System programming is needed to change a CO key to a FA Key. Do you manuals & SAT?

I have bunch of manuals I collected online but I don't think any of them have the info I need. Can you point me to one online?

Don't mind me but what is SAT?

If you are talking about CoSession software, I have it.

From the lowest numbered phone (first port used) dial "code deleted." Press line-key 4
Dial 1 2

Enter the number of the key to change (01 is top left, count left to right, top to bottom).

Press line keys until FA appears on the display.
Enter a number that has not been previously used on this phone (ie. like FA 02).

Press Transfer to save data.
Press Answer twice to exit programming.

Then repeat steps given above for reprogramming key feature.

Enjoy.
