Good Morning,

I have a Dterm Series E phone connected to a 2000IPS which is also connected to an AD-64 VM. Only on this phone does the word “MESSAGE” in the display stay on no matter what I do. I’ve toggled the Message waiting light, I’ve Reconciled the “Current MWI State” on our AD-64 and still nothing. The Message waiting light works fine it’s just that I can’t get the word “MESSAGE” to disappear when there are no messages, any Ideas?

Thank You
Rob

See if you have an archaic feature called "message reminder" or some such. This feature predates VM and allowed you to set a message lamp so that people would know to call you back.

Assign a Message Reminder Retrieve code in 200, and use this to call back whoever set the Message Reminder, then get rid of the annoying message. Then, set 1547>CoS>0 and 1548>CoS>0 and see if the problem stops happening.

I've also been able to use 200>FAC>A0041 (FAC = FEATURE CODE) to turn off message lamps, but that's usually when the message lamp gets out of sync with the VM for some reason (MWI, not MR). You can also call and leave yourself a message, then delete it.

If you're feeling brave, and you've backed up the database, you can also try rocking power, which will often resolve GSW* in the 2000 switch. This is a last-ditch effort, not to be done lightly.
