Could you tell me the procedure for adding a prefix to the allowed prefixes in my Electra Elite 192.

if you are using lcr then you'd need the lcr software in order to do it

I do not think that we are using lcr. I believe there is a list somewhere in the memory blocks that has the prefixes listed that are appropriate. I believe there are 42 or 43 currently in the local exchange. That does not include the toll free ones.

are you forced into dialing 9 to dial out? and when you do dial 9 does lcr appear in the display?
otherwise you have toll restriction. but that is just used to allow/block certain people from dialing certain numbers (ie 900, 976 ld, etc) not usually for routing certain nxx's

When you dial nine the display just shows what line you are going out on and the number of that line.
