It seems more and more like we'll be purchasing Aspire system. I just want to find out which routers others are using to set up site-to-site VPN so IP phones can be added in remote offices and how it is working. Our dealer doesn't have much info on it. I am thinking to use Sonicwall 150 in each remote location and 170 in main office. (we have 5 remote locations for now)
I found this white paper on NEC site, it is for Elite series but I am assuming it will be very similar with Aspire. According to that white paper VPN connection is required between all sites. As more and more site are added it will become nightmare to manage.

Anyone using IP phones in more than one remote locations? If so do you create VPN connections between all of them? Can one remote location call another remote location without having direct VPN between them? (through VPN to the main office) Can someone also point me out where I can find manual for IP phone?

Sorry for so many questions laugh and many thanks in advance for your answer.

You do need an VPN to each location. Addtionally, you will have to enable peer-to-peer so that one remote user can call the other. By defualt, remote Aspire VOIP extensions connect directly to each other with out using the KSU's VOIP card. Unless your VPN's are fully meshed, then this won't work for you. Once you disable Peer-to-peer, the remote stations will use VOIP ports for station to station calls.

The Sonic Wall is OK, but I don't think it provides QoS. Check out NetGear's ProSafe line for a relatively inexpensive solution.
