program 1-8-31 set to external will stop it. you can then connect a alternate music source to the rca jack under the cover & play whatever you want

Mine only gives me the option of A or B as shown in the manual..

Medley A = American Folk Song Medley
Medley B = Christmas Song Medley

There is no option for External.

I did look at 3-11 but when changing to external it cut off my trunk 1 selection on all phones.

1-8-31 will let you select internal (ie the folk songs or xmas) or external (whatever you connect to the rca jack)

Hello!

I'm running into an issue running the background music through CO4. I have just a basic discman hooked up, it plays through the telephones like it should for 42-45 seconds... then cuts out completely. It will come back if I reset the CPUI card, then turn the BGM off then on again. I've got the port set to CO4 in 1-1-79, but I just can't figure out why it would work for 45 seconds then crap out. Thanks!

We're trying to use a pre-recorded message on a loop for the on-hold music, and the CO for the BGM on the phones.

You need to program MOH/BGM on CO line feature in the system & provide -24 volt to it to work properly. This feature is intended for multiple MOH sources in a "tenant" enviroment. For a single tenant, just plug into the KSU's RCA jack as chrislebeck suggested.
