Serial comms can be a bit tricky. Here's what you're gonna need:

1.) A spare serial port. This can be one of the two built-in on the Processor, or it can be on an AP card.

2.) A baloney sandwich. This sort of thing can take while, be prepared for the long haul.

3.) A laptop with an HTG 9-pin serial port, a serial cable (null modem), and a null modem adapter.

Optional and helpful: pin-it-yourself 9-pin ends, male and female, LED indicators, 9:25 adapters.

The overall strategy is going to be:

A.) Get PMS data onto your laptop at the port.
B.) Move towards your PMS server, verifying data at each step.
C.) Get data at the PMS server.
D.) Work with the PMS vendor to establish data into the system.

Specifics in a moment.

Basically, you're gonna be using command 40yy. You'll set up a port with the same Baud and Parity as the PMS port that you want to talk to.

Turn on the options in CM 08 that apply to your PMS setup.

Remember that a serial port can only serve one function. If you use it for PMS, you can't use it for Built-in Modem or MAT terminal connection. Plan carefully.

What did you set up in command 40yy for your AP00 ports?

Are you getting anything at all on your serial cable out?

What kind of cable are you using?
