My SAT software allows me to connect, download, and everything else that I'm aware of - but upload is grayed-out in the communications window. Anyone seen that before?

Are you talkin about Elite or IPK switch.?? The only time I have seen this is when I am trying to upload a basic database into an expanded CPU without doing a converstion first or the other way round..

You aren't using the right "revision" of the SAT software. When you enter the password to log into the SAT software they have three selections:
<= S7000
>= S8000
IPK
IPK is selected by default. You need to select one of the other options depending on the software level of the switch.

Where do you find out which version your switch uses? Block 8-1 doesn't appear to match up in any way with S7000, S8000, etc.
