NEC Elite 192 with PRI and DID. Call comes into a specific DID. It currently rings one digital phone. I'm not quite clear what currently happens when that station is busy, or when a second call comes in.

What they want to have happen is to be able to receive multiple calls on that DID, and to use a bell and some sort of call-pickup to accomplish that. They also may or may not want the calls to ring one or more digital phones at the same time.

Ringing a single line station and using pickup is pretty straight forward. My initial question with that setup was what happens when two calls hit at the same time.

My second question was what would be the recommended way to do this, and if it's possible to have some digital phones ring in addition to the bell (at the same time), what also would be the recommended way to do this.

I'm sure I could figure out ways to make it work. I'd like to know from the NEC pros how YOU would program it, and what (if any) limitations I might run into.

Thanks!

going to break down the answers per your paragraphs:

1>if i remember right as long as you have more than 1 cap key assigned to a phone and 1-1-23 is set to tel, more than 1 call can ring to a phone. but you're limited to how many calls you can get by the amount of cap keys.

2>in order to ring more than 1 phone you'd have to have the did ring a car key (1-2-04 to build, 4-10 to assign stations) and have that car key assigned to more than 1 phone (4-12 button assignments).
