I recently had a DS2000 system go down due to power failure and when it came back up, it seemed to have forgotten some but not all of it's settings. I'd backed it up using the administration software a few months before and restoring the backup seems to have fixed all the configuration problems except one.

They have a paging horn system hooked up to analog extensions. Now if it's hooked up it just gives a busy signal. Obviosly I'm missing some settings to tell the system that this is not a normal Analog extension but I can't seem to figure out which settings I need.

If someone could tell me the settings an analog extension should have for use with a paging system I'd really appreciate it.

Hi,

Don't plug the paging horn into an analog port - plug it in to the optional equipment port on the CPU card.

For info, reference pg. 49 of the hardware installer's manual for wiring:

How do you page different horns if they're all on one port?

Are you using an analog interface for page zones? It's kind of important to include details.

Is it possible the paging amp is connected to a trunk?

Sorry I should have included more info, 4 horns (I don't know brand, but they have a 24V DC power supply) on 2 analog extensions (Not trunks) It was set up that way so they could page different bays separately.

They usually page them together anyway, so I probably could just wire them up to the External Paging port and make that work, but it's frustrating me to not know why this quit functioning. All the COs in the system are already in use so thats not an option.

Im not sure but could you set an analog port to auto answer or hands free and use it as a page port and use dss keys for different page zones, its just an amplified auto path.It works on some systems.I'm not sure ,just an Idea Jayman
